Chris McGuire holds a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where he performed in the One O'Clock Lab Band. He currently teaches at the University of Texas at Arlington. He plays saxophone and clarinet with many bands - both locally and around the world.
The Texins Jazz Band is a full 18-piece community big band. The band is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The band formed in 1986 at Texas Instruments. The majority of band members have STEM based degrees and careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). The band is under the musical direction of Bill Centera.
