Big Band Mardi Gras Concert

Texins Jazz Band and Unfaded Brass Band perform the music of Mardi Gras and New Orleans. Come celebrate the Mardi Gras carnival season with this full big band and brass band performance. The Texins Jazz Band is a full 18-piece community big band. The band is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The band formed in 1986 at Texas Instruments. The majority of band members have STEM based degrees and careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). The band is under the musical direction of Bill Centera. The band will perform many classic Mardi Gras songs in full big band format. Unfaded Brass Band members hail from New Orleans and surrounding areas. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, members of the band fled to Dallas and planted their roots within the city. In 2014, the founder, Jermaine Devezin saw the need to bring the brass band culture to the Dallas area. They fill a need for many fellow New Orleans natives who, along with the band, now call Dallas home. Presented by the Texins Jazz Band
