MRT is proud to be producing the North Texas premiere of National Pastime. This new musical comedy is about a struggling radio station during the 1930’s that saves itself by broadcasting games for a fake, undefeated baseball team… until the national press catches on. This fast-paced, hilarious musical is sure to be a home run!
Described as a throwback to a sweeter era of musical theatre, National Pastime is filled with toe-tapping numbers, romantic entanglements, and nostalgic charm. With themes of teamwork, integrity, and a little small-town magic, the show celebrates the spirit of America’s favorite pastime in a wholly unique way.
Thanks to a generous grant from H-E-B, students get to see this production for free.
Shows in the MRT 2025-2026 Season are:
Barefoot in the Park (rated PG-13) by Neil Simon; July 25-26, Aug 1-2, and 8-9, 2025
