Texas Performing Chinese Arts Association presents "West Meets East 2013," a concert featuring erhu and violin.

Violin maestro, Hubert Pralitz is a pupil of Zino Francescatti, Henryk Szerlng and Sandor Vegh. He studied at the National Superior Conservatory of Music in Paris, France. He graduated with highest honors, receiving his Master's of Music at the Academy for Performing Arts "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Music in Violin Performance at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Pralitz teaches violin and viola for the Rockwall School of Music in Rockwall, Texas. He has also taught privately in the U.S., Austria, Germany, Monaco, Switzerland, France, Italy, Mexico and Argentina.

The erhu is a two-stringed bowed musical instrument, more specifically a spike fiddle, which may also be called a "southern fiddle," and is sometimes known in the Western world as the "Chinese violin" or a "Chinese two-stringed fiddle". It is used as a solo instrument as well as in small ensembles and large orchestras.

Erhu maestro, Xin Zhang, accompanies Mr. Pralitz for the performance at McKinney Performing Arts Center.
