Camp Improvisation with a Groundling!
with Guy Stevenson
Guy has been performing and teaching at the Groundlings for ten years which helped him get a position writing and producing on the Fox show MAD TV. Guys act also appeared on "Punk'd", "Reno 911", "Curb your Enthusiasm", "The League", and "Parks and Rec"' to name a few. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three sons and is a proud veteran of the Marine Corps.
The art of improvisation is as much a joyful process as it is a hilarious product. The Groundlings have a specific, fool proof approach to improvisation that each student will be able to file away in their actor's toolbox! The skills of a solid improvisational foundation is key for every actor in the creative development of a character as well as helping with cold reading skills. Improvisation skills are also great for the non actor who want to build their self esteem and public speaking skills. Each day, campers dive into an exciting array of expertly crafted theater games, improvisational exercised, ensemble-building activities and performance opportunities. On the final day, students will present a sketch comedy show highlighting their work from that week!
a light snack and bottled water will be available for students each day.
