Shows in the MRT 2022-2023 Season are:

Oct. 7-8 and 14-15, 2022
Bram Stoker's Dracula by Hamilton Deane & John l. Balderston
An enormously successful revival of this classic opened on Broadway in 1977, fifty years after the original production. This mystery thriller is generally considered among the best of its kind. Lucy Seward, whose father is the doctor in charge of an English sanitorium, has been attacked by some mysterious illness. Dr. Van Helsing, a specialist, believes that the girl is the victim of a vampire, a sort of ghost that goes about at night sucking blood from its victims. The vampire is at last found to be a certain Count Dracula, whose ghost is at last laid to rest in a striking and novel manner. The play is intended for all who love thrills in the theater.

Nov. 25-26 and Dec. 9-10, 2022
Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol as adapted by McKinney's own Dr. Andrew Harris
The one-hour performance is an annual family tradition at MRT. Each season more people are discovering this timeless story, in a way that only MRT can tell, with families coming back every year making it a part of their holiday season tradition. The miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is taught the true meaning and spirit of Christmas by ghosts who show him his own past and present. He is also shown what the future holds for him if he doesn't change his behavior. A must-see for the holidays with performances during the annual "Home for the Holidays - A McKinney Christmas" festival in November and encore performances in December.

February 24-25 and March 3-4, 2023
The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery by David McGillivray
Every drama group has experienced the horrors of what can go wrong on opening night, and the ladies of the F.A.H.E.T.G. Dramatic Society are no different, with the possible exception that almost everything that could happen does! The scenery collapses, cues are missed, lines forgotten, and the sound effects take on a strange note at times, as the ladies present their ambitious evening's entertainment with the cunning whodunit, "Murder at Checkmate Manor." The crunch comes in the denouement when the "murderer", about to be revealed, has to rush home to bandage up an injured daughter. See how they rise above the outrageous dramatics to save the situation and provide the final inventive twist.

May 5-6 and 12-13, 2023
Rumors by Neil Simon
Four couples arrive at the townhouse of a deputy New York City mayor and his wife to attend a party celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. However, the four couples soon discover that there are no servants, the hostess is missing, and the deputy mayor has shot himself in the head (it’s only a flesh wound). Comic complications arise when, given everyone's upper-class status, they decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening’s events from the local police and the media. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

July 28-29, Aug. 4-5 and 11-12, 2023
Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express by Ken Ludwig
The exotic Orient Express is about to go off the rails. With a train full of remarkable suspects and an alibi for each one, it’s the perfect mystery for detective Hercule Poirot. When the Agatha Christie estate approached Ken Ludwig to adapt Dame Agatha’s most enduring novel and put it on stage, he agreed with alacrity – just as quickly as it takes Hercule Poirot to solve the most thrilling case of his entire career. So wax your mustache and hold onto your passport for what has now become the most highly produced comedy-mystery in the world.
